With a combination of formal training and over twenty years of field experience, Roger has a wealth of expertise in the area of community development, particularly in the area of clean water technologies for rural communities. He focuses on simple technologies that help grassroots communities have access to safe and clean water, such as rainwater catchment and storage systems, hand pumps for wells, bio-sand filters, or improved latrines. He also has some experience with alternative construction methods and the needs and requirements for buildings in earthquake and tropical cyclone areas.

Over the past years, Roger has completed a postgraduate diploma in education with a focus on educational leadership while starting their own school at the training center they established in Vanuatu. He has gained valuable knowledge and experience in educational leadership for small to medium schools in rural developing contexts and beyond. He has written several papers and articles, and a selection can be found as blog posts on our site.
